I started out in the underground press in Austin Texas, at the Austin Sun newspaper, where I did editorial cartoons and illustrations while occasionally pretending to design and art direct.  After four years of sweating in the obscene heat and increasing Republicanism of my home state, I moved to San Francisco. There I spent seven years working as a syndicated Op-Ed political satirist at the Pacific News Service before moving on to full time freelance illustration. In these pre-computer days, I worked in a number of styles using traditional mediums. Here is a small collection of works from that period.
